Who we are
One person, one idea — that the things we surround ourselves with should do more good in the world.
The Snug Spot began in a flat in Manchester with a simple frustration: why is it so hard to find beautiful home goods that are actually good for the planet?
Our founder, James, had spent years watching cheap, disposable homeware pile up in landfills — products that looked nice for a season and fell apart by the next. Working a day job while slowly building something on the side, he spent evenings sourcing small artisan makers, testing products on his own shelves, and figuring out what "sustainable" actually meant beyond a marketing buzzword.
In 2024, The Snug Spot launched from his kitchen table with six products and a belief that British homes deserved better.
We source every product with three questions: Is it made well? Is it made fairly? And will it last? If something doesn't pass all three, it doesn't make the cut — no matter how beautiful it looks.
We partner directly with small-batch makers and ethical manufacturers, cutting out the middlemen who inflate prices and dilute accountability. Every supplier in our chain is vetted for labour standards and environmental impact.
We're not perfect — no young company is — but we publish our sourcing practices openly, and we're committed to improving every year.
We stock things that last years, not seasons. Quality is our first filter — always.
We publish where our products come from. Our sourcing page is always open.
Every maker we work with is paid fairly. We believe beautiful things should be made with dignity.
We'd rather have twenty things we're proud of than two hundred things we're not.
